Sapa needed to manage a complete flow in the production of aluminum picture frames. The solution was a robot cell that handles cutting, wrapping, carton wrapping and subsequent palletizing.
The project commitment consisted of:
- Robot, ABB IRB 4600
- Siemens PLC with HMI
- Plastic wrap
- Cutting of frames
- Track system for finished cartons to robot system
- Fences, light barriers and emergency stops
- Pallet track system with pallet magazine
- Labeling and scanning of products
